Countdown to Halloween....

...can't wait. Some fun ideas here.

And ... a cool idea for those of you dealing with demanding teens with expensive taste (specifically in clothes :-).

Anyone surprised by the outcome of Top Chef last night? I was a little... creative guy... but made some mistakes in the past - and even last night (despite help from Michael V!) that I'm not sure were "Top Chef-worthy". Anyway.... no spoilers here - though weigh in if you want (and I know you will - text or email me, "cookie" ;-). I also started watching the new Top Chef: Just Desserts as well - immediately following (will take the former's timeslot at 10 pm next week) - wowee.... some divas on that show, eh?

Finally - quick question: Do you ever have someone NOT return an email or a call despite the subject matter / situation being VERY important? And, further, it appears that this person MAY be trying to gain an advantage by doing so? Appalling. Impolite. My two cents..... What do you think, though? I'm truly interested (and provide stories - you know I like to listen).

Photo: Last year - Halloween. I love my fall photos - especially Halloween - may revisit some from the past in the next few weeks ... post now and then. My zen.

Well, you know my answer to the email, although I guess the subject matters in my emails are rarely very important (to anyone else but me, that is).

I have a non-job-related one: When we were looking to install BathFitters, I found out that one of the moms at J's school got it (the company provides a list of customers), so I emailed her, asking her opinion/letting her know we wanted to decide quickly. She wrote back at a month later, maybe longer, apologizing for being so busy. It is a good thing my decision was not hinging on her answer!

How rude of someone not to return your call/email! Hmph.

My kids are already counting down until Halloween, and they whip themselves into a complete frenzy. All about Halloween here.

I don't think I have a story, but I always find it hard to believe that someone can't reply within 24 hours. Even if it's just to say - I'm too busy I'll get to you when I can. Although, there have been a few times I've read an email and then just forgetten. Something comes up and it's not bold in my inbox anymore - but I always apologize and explain way more than I think anybody cares to know.

I know.... reply within a certain amt of time....right? This time, I got an email from someone in the dept of Olivia's school that handles the tuition payments. They have our payment plan wrong, which makes it look like something is late PLUS they indicated that I did not turn a certain form in, which is probably why I haven't been notified until now. Hello? Get back to me! What do I need to do?!?! Some people.....

I have definitely had that experience of no response via e-mail - unfortunately, from a sibling from time to time, regarding my updates or questions about Mom. I learned quickly to just do what needed to be done and not wait for a response. Sounds like yours was more of a "business" concern - but still, it is not ideal. I am thinking I have failed to return an e-mail to a faculty member...! Eek.
