A week to relax?

Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. I have hubby home this week (which is kinda like having Shrek in the house - set in his ways, alternately grumpy and frazzled by the kids then into all sorts of plans and / or cooking and humming - house will be a little messier - kids will be a little crazier - - we'll have fun - all good) - plans for dinner and a band tonight with friends - kids with all sorts of time in front of them - no plans .... for the next day or so anyway. We'll see....

Supposed to be over 90 degrees again today - and humid - so stay hydrated and cool if you can... Would love to see some of you this week or next.... will work to do so...

Back to my messy, rumpled house, I have work to do - hang new artwork - get to those aforementioned storage bins, etc. My basil and cilantro were really thirsty - oregano remarkably not so - have already used lettuce, greens and a pepper from the garden - anxious for the new little green tomatoes to be ready - cucumbers, squash, carrots and peas all looking good. We'll see .... this weather is intense....

Here's what I'm all about today - article on home organization.

And, fellow animal lovers, here is an update on what is being done for birds affected by the BP Gulf oil spill.

Last tip - on the Serious Eats blog (see my blog list), there is a post on what to do with all those veggies from your CSA or your garden that you don't know what to do with (and, no, M, we don't ALL have personal chefs :-).

Happy thoughts to you, Cindy Lou Who (if you're reading today). Thanks for the conversation the other night....

Lil just came down the stairs, stuck her rumpled head over the railing and said, "hi guys!" Photo is in her honor today ;-). Love those piggie slippers!
